"The rudest, most unpleasant experience I’ve had in a Dublin pub in the past thirty years. I’m a relatively recent local and I came in with three friends who cabbed over from Rathmines to meet me for lunch, a pint and to watch the match. We ordered a round of drinks which were brought to the table we’d just sat down at by one of the bar men. We’d been chatting for less than five minutes—I hadn’t touched my drink yet—and the bar man came back to the table, threw cash down, grabbed our drinks and aggressively told us to leave because we’d had too much to drink. When we asked what the issue was, that we hadn’t had anything to drink yet, he said he didn’t care and to leave. We tried to reason again, saying there must be some misunderstanding, and found ourselves being stared down by all five bar men who looked like they were waiting for a fight. So we left. One of my friends was particularly upset as she used to live across from the pub, which she drank in, and had never been ejected from any pub before. She went back in to find out what had really happened. The bar man changed his story and said that I was asleep at the table—an unusual thing to have seen given that I was deep in conversation with my friend beside me about the college assignments I had just taken a break from so I could have lunch with him. None of us have experienced such unquantified pig ignorance in any pub for years. I won’t be going back. I have a number of local friends who use the pub as a central gathering point who won’t be going back either."
"Ryan’s Pub is here. Get away from all the people and enjoy a quiet pint or some food. In A very clean place. My opinion the best pub in town. My grandson and myself having a taste with Fred. All the people in this place are great and we all share stories."
